Le prime balenottere per l'inizio della stagione - First fin whales spotted at the beginning of the research season

Dopo giorni di frenetici preparativi, ha inizio oggi il primo dei 20 turni di ricerca che vedranno la "Pelagos" impegnata nelle crociere di ricerca con scienziati e volontari. Le crociere con i volontari partiranno tutti i lunedì, per tutta l'estate fino alla fine di settembre.
E come buon auspicio, sono state avvistate proprio domenica scorsa, dai nostri amici del whale watching sulla barca "Corsara", le prime due balenottere comuni della stagione, a 6 miglia al largo di Sanremo.

The R/V "Pelagos" is setting sails today, starting the first research cruise of the 2012 summer season,  after many days of frantic preparation. A new course with the participation of volunteers will be starting every monday all summer long, until the end of September.
As a good omen, the first two fin whales of the season have been spotted last sunday, six miles from Sanremo.
